♡Pengalaman appointment & warded di KPJ Pasir Gudang - (Referral Letter + PMCare Insurance: inpatient)

Pre-entry
  1. Make sure you already have the latest referral letter from clinic. Preferably from clinic panel for your company.
  2. Call your company HR, then inform them that you plan to use company insurance to be admitted to KPJ (or any hospital yang insurance cover). Confirm with them if your insurance is active, how much provision, inpatient, outpatient, room & board price limit yada yada. Pastu mintak guarantee letter (GL), kalau takde takpe. Yang penting kena tau insurance dah active.
  3. Call KPJ, mintak sambungkan ke admin department yg berkaitan (in my case, I'm referring my case to Ob-Gyn). Then ask the admin for availability of the doctors on the day you want to go, if available, tell the admin you want to make appointment on that date. You will be given option for morning or evening appointment. Tell them you nak pakai insurance company and they will ask if you nak bawak sendiri guarantee letter (GL) or nak KPJ yg requestkan GL from your insurance. I asked KPJ to request GL from PMCare sbb aku malassss.
  4. If your insurance tak cover outpatient, boleh pakai trick ni: explain kat admin KPJ yg you nak pakai inpatient insurance, so mintak warded (hospitalisation) sehari. KPJ knows what to do.
Appointment day
  1. Pack your clothes + towel + selipar to be warded. Toiletries and meal KPJ ada sediakan. Bawak la snacks for when your're hungry during warded.
  2. Bring your referral letter & IC, and kalau ada GL boleh bawak jugak.
  3. Pukul 8am KPJ dah bukak. Pegi awal sbb parking tak banyak. Pegi tingkat 5 for registration. Standby GL or make sure dah install insurance app. In my case, I already have PMCare app, so admin tu boleh check berapa baki insurance.
  4. Jumpa doctor and bagitau you have to be warded utk claim insurance. Doctor will note & inform admin yg you'll be admitted to ward. Bagitau doctor you taknak bayar apa-apa (taknak co-pay), so lab test yg tak berkaitan, request takyah buat.
  5. Dah settle jumpa doctor, tunggu call by their admin to confirm you dah boleh warded. Usually take like 1-3 hours. Pegi la makan ke apa dulu. KPJ akan bagi satu card utk admit ward.
Warded/Admission
  1. Dah dapat call confirmation utk warded, pegi balik office doctor yg you dah jumpa time appointment (in my case I go back to Ob-Gyn). Bawak card KPJ, pegi kat assistant & bagitau you nak admit ward. Tunggu admin bawak you pusing-pusing (urine test, blood test, x-ray dll). Then dah settle, dorang akan suruh you untuk register for admission kat tingkat 1.
  2. Once dah settle sign borang admission, admin akan bawak you pegi ward.
  3. Bila dah dapat katil kat ward, pegi buang air or mandi dulu bc nanti nurse akan masuk saline & ubat lalu tangan, susah nak pegi toilet once dah masuk air.
  4. Throughout the day, nurse and doctor will constantly keluar masuk bilik to check up on you. Dont be alarmed, relax je. Nak tido, tido. Pukul 5am nurse kejut utk amik BP, temp & bagi ubat. Pukul 8am usually doctor akan round, and time tu boleh mintak discharge.
Discharge
  1. Once doctor kata dah boleh discharge, nurse akan arrange everything for your discharge. Take 2-3h before they confirm untuk urusan discharge. Usually pukul 10.30am keatas dah settle. Nanti nurse akan datang bilik utk inform dah boleh discharge.
  2. Once dah boleh discharge, pegi tingkat 1, bagitau nama and bagitau nak discharge. Sign everything & pay if your insurance dont cover something. Then dorg akan bagi kertas pink.
  3. Bawak kertas pink ke ward you duduk, then bagi kat nurse kat counter utk dorg prepare ubat, MC and receipt. Sementara tu tunggu dalam bilik, kemas-kemas and pack your bag. Dont go back just yet, tunggu nurse datang bilik.
  4. Once dah dapat ubat & everything, boleh la balik.
Q&A:
  • Can bring someone to ward? Ans: boleh sorang, tapi perempuan je boleh teman. Taknak org teman pun boleh.
  • Meals? Ans: 4 times/day. Ada option asian, western, bubur.
  • Visiting hour? Ans: refer here.
  • Room & board option?: Ans: refer here
  • Kalau ada insurance outpatient, boleh guna utk appointment? Ans: boleh. lagi senang, takpayah warded.
  • Rate? Ans: for me 4.5/5 star. -0.5 star sebab takde adequate parking space. Makanan sedap, nurse layan best, customer experience pun ok.
  • Other tips? Ans: bawak stokin tebal & sweater, bilik sejuk nak mampos. Bawak snack/roti kalau senang lapar.
  • PMCare my company cover apa? Ans: hospitalisation (surgery & non-surgery) and room RM150. Meaning cover inpatient je. Nak gi appointment hospital kena warded utk claim insurance.
  • Apa je KPJ sediakan once warded? Ans: for 2-bed room (ruby ward - RM130/day), ada katil, selimut, bantal, air panas, air minum (dalam botol), cawan and toiletries (berus gigi, ubat gigi, shampoo, shower gel, stokin, tuala muka, shower cap). Yang lain takde.
